Northerners cleared land, founded their farms and gave them their name. EYKELL is a name found in French toponymy. Eycheil in Ari\u00e8ge has the same root as Echillais, anc. Echillos, in Charente Maritime. Echillais is said to correspond to Eykellhus, the house of Eykell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
